How it Works
We work to provide hassle free research and development by making everything as streamlined as possible: someone emails us an idea,
we reply to them to clarify design requirements, then we assign the project to one or more of our team members.
As of now, our process has not been formalized as we are still working through what works best for our customers and our developers. This is an iterative process and each product that we build provides lessons learned that we can apply to the next time someone asks us for help. Our current process is described below, but we are working on migrating to something more structured so that our operations can scale better.
Our end goal is to make it so that the process is as easy to understand as possible, while taking no more than 5 minutes for someone to submit an idea. If you have thoughts on ways we can do this, or feedback on how to make our current low tech system work better, we would greatly appreciate it.

You Have A Problem
Or perhaps a list of problems. Or maybe they are just ideas. No matter what, there are things you need someone to work on. That's where we come in.

You Fill Out and Submit a Project Request
Email us at squidworks@protonmail.com to get started.
Tomorrow
We Recieve Your Request
We check our email and see your request. We then categorize the project based on skills required, estimated time, and priority level. Once we do that, we begin reaching out to our team to see who is able to take on the project.
2 Days from Now
We Assign a Researcher To Your Project
By now we have one of our team members at work on your project. After researching the subject so they have a better idea of what they are being asked to do, they work through the project requirements and develop a plan for moving forward according to the project's timeline.
3 Days From Now
Our Researcher Reaches Out
We don't want to waste any of our time or yours, so we will reach out to the requesting party to discuss the project and go over any parts that need further clarification. By smoothing out questions ahead of time we can make sure that the finished project will fulfill the requirements of what is needed.
R&D Time
Our Researchers Work on Your Project
Based off of the timeline outlined during the planning stages, our team members will work to complete your project. This can take any length of time, but we will work to get everything done as quickly as possible, without failing any of our classes.
Completion
We Submit our Finished Project
Once the project is complete we forward the product back to the requesting party. We then begin the process of tuning the product until it fits the exact operational need it was built for. We are not done working on it until the project has been adopted by your in-house developers or it no longer needs to be worked on.
